Making Mondays Awesome!

UK Lifestyle blogger tips for a great productive weekend

Finally the first bank holiday of 2015 is upon us! To be honest I can't believe this year has gone so fast and its already April.

One of my favourite weekends of the year has to be Easter weekend! Usually the weather is getting warmer and time can be spent outside with the Kids rather that getting cabin fever in the house.
To be honest I'm not sure what we are doing or where we are going but I know i'm determined not to go back to work on Tuesday thinking I've wasted the weekend.

Here are a few ideas to help you have a productive weekend and to stop that Monday Morning Feeling in its tracks!

1) GO OUT! Get up out of bed at a reasonable time and actually get dressed. Then go somewhere, anywhere! I love Netflix as much as the next person (more probably) but whilst staying in all weekend might seem like the ideal option you'll only regret it come monday.
Go Shopping, grab a coffee, go for a run, walk the dog......just do something so you can say you have actually left the house!

2) CHANGE THE BED(s) - I like to do this on a Sunday Morning. I love love love sleeping in a fresh clean bed. I always get a better nights sleep when my bed is clean. This then totally sets me up for the week!

3) GO TO THE GYM - Combine it with grabbing a coffee and you've covered step 1 and 3 in one go! I usually head to a spin class on a Saturday morning. Admittedly it's not my ideal way to wake up but I always feel 100% better for doing it.

4) COOK A MEAL - It might be Sunday Lunch or just a quick Saturday night supper. Cooking makes you feel like you've been productive and it stops you eating junk for one evening at least......

5) ORDER TAKEAWAY - Yes contradictory I know. They say variety is the spice of life though so give yourself one day over the weekend off from cooking and order a domino's!

6) DUVET DAY - Again I know! The weekend is for relaxing though so as long as you don't spend all weekend in the same pj's watching TV box sets you'll be fine! You certainly deserve one day a week to not get up!

7) PAMPER NIGHT - I love having a pamper night on a Sunday when the kids are in bed. It makes me feel like I've actually done something to take care of myself. Usually Mondays are pretty hectic and I don't get much time to myself so sitting in the bath listening to Spotify makes me feel a little bit better

8) MEAL PREP - I know it's really not that exciting but if you prep your meals and snacks for the coming week it means you have a small amount of free time each day to chill. Even if it's just making the kids packed lunches.........You'll feel better for it!

How do you have a productive weekend?

The Great British Bake Off

I love cake! Just putting that out there!

UK lifestyle and Fitness blogger Watching The Great British Bake Off

No but seriously I do love cake - I didn't get to the weight I was by eating cucumber and salad. However I am an appauling baker. It's one thing that has been on my todo list forever but due to all manner of excuses I've never gotten round to learning!

UK lifestyle and Fitness blogger Watching The Great British Bake Off

For the last few years I've satisified my need to bake by watching the bakers struggle on The Great British Bake off. I love it.
Let's be honest it's the best way I get to watch someone else making the cakes and don't have to struggle with the temptation to eat the cakes at the end of it!

I really will learn to bake - In fact I might make it my mission to learn before the end of the year.

Do you have any easy recipes you could share with me?

This Weekend!

Oh my days - this weekend has been one of dreams and nightmares! The sun has finally started shinning here in the UK so the husband, kids and I headed to the beach on Saturday!
Well no trip to the beach would be complete without traditional English Fish and Chips and boy were they good! In fact they were actually amazing............
Sunday saw us go for a Picnic at a local park - again more bad food!! Having a healthy picnic is down right hard - made even harder by the fact the park sells the most gorgeous Scones, Jam and Cream.

I don't even want to weigh myself this week - I am actually far too scared. It's gotten to the point where I am considering not eating until after my PT session on Friday! Yes I know this probably won't help but having to stand there and feel miserable about my one weekend of fun isn't going to make me feel good.

At the very least I plan on drinking as much water as humanly possible to flush all the bad crap out of my system.
While I had a great weekend I actually feel pretty crap from all the shit I've eaten!

Back to taking it one day at a time again!

Over The Weekend!

Weekend Round Up

Wow that weekend sure went fast! It might have something to do with losing an hours sleep.....I'm still catching up on that hour!

So what did i get up to this weekend.....well it was a bit of an unsuccessful one.
Saturday - I woke up and headed to my double spin class...this was fab. I gave it everything - actually too much and ended up injuring the back of my knee. I'm fairly sure this was due to having the seat in the wrong position.
The rest of the day was a total flop.....My knee was sore and I ended up spending the day eating crap which resulted in me feeling like crap! Just great.
I also decided to have a glass of wine! Now before I embarked on this lifestyle i used to be able to drink most weekends......seemingly not any more. I could barely finish the glass and it tasted revolting! It really wasn't worth the calories!

Sunday - Sunday was mothers day and i spent the day at the park with my two little darlings. To be fair this wasn't a complete disaster, i found that i can now fit on the swings again - much to the embarrassment of my 10 year old son, I decided this was a small non scale victory so it cheered me up a bit!

All in all not the best weekend, although certainly not the worst....kind of a non event really. Either way this past weekend seems to have renewed my commitment to clean eating, I made up my mind to hit the supermarket early Monday morning and embark on some meal prep! I'm planning on April being a 100% clean month......Wish me luck!

Monday Weekend Round Up...........

That's another weekend down and not much progress made!

I'm seriously going to have to sort this out!

True to form Saturday morning was another double spin session! Yes that's 90 mins of Spin, to be fair the husband does it with me so that tends to make me work harder, but after the first 45 minutes my legs were killing me! They were getting to the point where i couldn't move them! It's this that i find hardest about working out! My head and heart want it, even my lungs could keep going but my legs just gave up! So i managed to attack the first 45 minutes.....the second 45 minutes were a very very different story.

I'm starting to get to know the spin instructor now and she tends to know which classes i've already done that week, so this week she was asking me which CD i wanted to do? Obviously i chose the cheesiest dance mix she has......one that i could have a good sing a long to. In theory this should have made the second class easier..........It didn't!!

Anyway food choices........food has and probably will always be my downfall! I've downloaded the myfitnesspal app to my phone and am working on tracking my calories on there. I'm not sure how accurate the exercise calories are so at the moment i'm not taking any notice of my exercise calories, i'm eating between 1000-1200 calories per day......to be fair i think 1000 is too few so i might jazz things up a bit and work on 1200 ish!
